Rough Justice: ’84 security agency game wants your support for a Linux port with Windows PC. According to recent details from developer Gamma Minus. Who just announced their new title on Steam.
Rough Justice: ’84 is a single-player, time management game. One where you run a private security agency. So you will hire, manage, train, and deploy agents. Then deal with fugitive recovery, repossession, and private investigative contracts. As the owner of a private security contracting agency, you attempt to bring some form of order. All due to the ever changing and evolving landscape. Behind the curtains of this struggle for justice with a much bigger story playing out. A story involving a secret organization with grand ambitions. One that also has you in their crosshairs.
Rough Justice: ’84 is a uniquely creative experience. Putting you in charge training, deploying, and managing a team of bounty hunters. Which also includes repo agents and private investigators. Which is what caught my attention. So naturally, reaching out to Gamma Minus via email produced this reply:
…if enough people request it via steam, then we’ll do it. In fact, presently 17 ppl have wishlisted it specifically on Linux, if we get 500, we’ll do it [Linux].
So here’s the deal, the Rough Justice: ’84 developer wants your support. As stated, there already is some Linux Wishlisting support. The email also states, “we are not opposed to doing a Linux port.” But the tiny team of devs has minimal resources. So in order to help solidify future sales they want to see support from the community.
This means, clicking your account name in the top right of the Steam client, and selecting Store Preferences. Make sure to set your Platform Preference to Linux only. Then, Wishlist the game on Steam for a Linux port.
Rough Justice: ’84 – Story Trailer
It’s 1984, everyone’s favorite year, and the port city of Seneca is experiencing a boom. But upstanding citizens aren’t the only Senecans benefiting from the city’s spoils. In Rough Justice: ’84 Seneca’s criminals are worse. All finding homes and lairs in all sectors of society.
You are Jim Baylor; Seneca’s former top detective and law enforcement officer fallen from grace. A man who is also falsely accused of crimes he never committed, Then stripped of rank, title, and honor. Put in prison with the very people he put away.
But you don’t stay locked up for long. You’re released from jail under unclear odds. You seek to clear your name, and get the dirt on the people begind your demise. Dig in and find the greater operations at play. So, to that aim, and with the help of friends and former colleagues, you open and run a private security agency. One that also hires, manages, trains, and deploys agents all across Seneca. This is where it all begins in Rough Justice: ’84. A blend of management, card game, and puzzle, all in a neon-lit ’80s inspired world.
