Prepare your couch and order some sushi. Because the French developers from independent studio Wako Factory are launching Samurai Riot. Since their arcade co-op beat’em up launch date is September 13th, 2017, which hits Steam. And while the games release will be for Windows, a Linux build is coming after.

Samurai Riot is planned for a Linux release shortly after the PC launch. Our game developer is a Linux user, so it’s a important subject for him!

So no specific release date is set for Linux just yet. We will have more details coming shortly. Since the games launch is right around the corner, headed for Steam.

Samurai Riot is an addictive, 2D, side scrolling, beat’em up inspired by 90’s classics. While including original co-op features and a multi-branching. Along with moral decision making, storyline leading to eight different endings.
So players take on the role of Sukane, an enigmatic Ninja who fights alongside with Azu, the fox. Since the fox can transform into weapons; or Tsurumaru, a loyal samurai with a katana. As well as a bunch of grenades. Then set off on an adventure in a hand-painted 2D universe immersed in Japanese mythology.

Following your master’s orders to stop the turmoil of civil war between tradition and modernity. You’ll have to make deep moral choices, demanding serious reflection, in order to resolve the unstable political situation and discover the true meaning of honor as a samurai!
Every choice matters in Samurai Riot and each decision you’ll make will lead to a unique narrative path, with a completely different story!

Each player can develop their own way of playing and can mix different ways of fighting, be it punch, kick, grab, throw, poison, bombs – many ways to bring down Samurai Riot enemies and bosses that include massive Sumo wrestlers with law enforcement shields, trigger-happy ninjas, mythological Yokais and more.
