Publisher Top Hat Studios and development studio Suzaku have announced Sense – A Cyberpunk Ghost Story. Which to launch for Linux, Mac and Windows PC’s in 2018.
Sense – A Cyberpunk Ghost Story is a 2.5D game. While taking inspiration from Clock Tower and Fatal Frame. Set in the year 2083 in Neo Hong-Kong the story follows Mei-Lin Mak. Hence a young woman with cybernetic eyes pulled into the maelstrom of an unsolved supernatural mystery. All just from centuries past.
So she peers deeper into the mystery. Her perception of reality slowly crumbles around her. Leaving her to question every intricacy of her surroundings.
Under the neon lights of a cyperpunk dystopia. The ruins of the Chung Sing building hide a bloody mystery illuminated. While this is by both the traditions of Chinese folklore. As well as the innovations of the industrial future. If there is any hope of escaping this nightmare. Mei-Lin must explore this complex. As she also pieces together the stories of 14 lost souls. Discovering the truth of her own family curse. With careful attention to pacing, atmosphere and storytelling.
Sense – A Cyberpunk Ghost Story Mission:
Also, Sense – A Cyberpunk Ghost Story announced that it will return the horror genre to its roots. Celebrating the slow, fearful creep of dread. Instead of turning to action and jump scares. Mei finds herself in the role of an agent. A programmer and not a soldier. The ghosts – the glitches of the universe – are spirits and not zombies. So the games scares are from within, not from the horrors around.
A Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign is planned for later this year. Helping to accelerate the development process. Also to potentially provide necessary funding to make PlayStation 4 and PlayStation VITA releases possible. A public demo release is also planned for later this month. The games confirmed for Linux, Mac and Windows in 2018.
