Ship of Fools cooperative roguelite game holds hope for Linux with Windows PC. Due to the creative efforts of developer Fika Productions. Working to make its way onto Steam.
Fika Productions have announced that Ship of Fools will launch later this year. The frantic one or two-player local and online co-op roguelite is destined for Steam. While taking place on the high seas. Ship of Fools follows a bunch of brave (well, foolhardy) humanlike sailors out to save their Archipelago. Doing so from gigantic, deadly leviathans, and The Everlasting Storm. While they strive to prevent the Aquapocalypse.
Thanks to an email from developer Fika Productions, there is also hope for Linux.
If we see a lot of interest for a Linux version we’ll surely do it
While this may sound like good news for Ship of Fools. The developers also point out the cost factor of porting. Since the team pays some pricey licenses for their development tools. So of course they need to see if the price of a native Linux build is worth it. Which also is the same for Mac too.
That being said, the gameplay like Don’t Starve, in a sense. But since Unity 3D does make the porting process far easier. Linux makes for a far more stable platform for co-op gaming. Plus there a Linux thread on Steam already, so you can share your vote there. The more the better. Also, check out the trailer below.
