Snakes-N-Ladders: Origins first-person shooter will be coming to Linux

Snakes-N-Ladders: Origins, which is a modern first-person shooter from #developer #Sagnithi, is as new on the Snakes N Ladders universe. A #boardgame brought to life, could it be?

The official Steam Greenlight description below explains the general gist

Millions of years ago there waged a devastating war between humans and reptilians for control over the galaxy. Knowledge of this war has been passed down the ages and now exists in the form of a board game which is played to this date.

Recreated from a single player First-Person-Shooter perspective, this is the classic Snakes & Ladders board game like you have never played it before! Developed using Epic’s powerful Unreal® Engine, Episode 1 is a small game comprising of 6 levels in one giant earth-like swamp forest valley on an unknown planet. It delves into first contact between the two races and how the whole legend began. It is the stepping stone into the vast Snakes-N-Ladders: Origins saga to come.

As a Greenlight project the quality can vary, but the title is developed using Unreal Engine 4, so we are hoping for some stunning scenery. And really, it is about time a developer took on the possibilities of the Snakes n Ladders universe.

The Linux release and where things stand with Sagnithi:

We are using Unreal Engine 4 as our game engine which has support for Linux, but in an early access stage. That’s why we choose to build this game for Windows at this moment.

However we look forward to being able to release our projects for other platforms which includes Linux in the near future.
