Soulblight is a topdown roguelike coming to Kickstarter crowdfunding very soon. Since the games built around the literal meaning of RPG. While also coming to Linux, Mac and Windows. It is only fitting to share the news, since the games been Greenlit on Steam.
So instead of XP grinding, gameplay introduces a unique Taint System (nice naming convention). While travelling through the shattered reality of the Sanctuary. Players will receive personality traits based on your choices. So these will then be the main source of your strength. To harness them, you will have to act accordingly. While becoming an alcoholic means that you will be rewarded for getting drunk. Yet from that point being sober might prove to be unbearable.
On the face of this wretched world there is a gaping wound. The Sanctuary, once glorious, now forsaken, hides secrets of forgotten machinery. Magical matter is born there when spacetime ripples and loses its meaning. Yet…at the heart of it all is an anomaly. A tree shrouded in a mystical liquid. Luring those brave enough with its promises of greatness. Do you dare seek its power? Do you wish to drink from the Soulblight?

The Idea Behind Soulblight:
So most RPGs are in a strange place right now. Pretty much every game with a levelling mechanic calls itself an RPG. We all play those games travelling through awesome worlds and maxing out our stats. While grinding XP at every opportunity. But over the years this has become more mundane than enchanting. Hence Soulblight, which is already listed on Steam, due to release in January 2018.
So the Kickstarter campaign for Soulblight is coming soon. While Linux, Mac and Windows are not listed in the crowdfunding page. There is plenty of information further explain the games unique take on the genre.
