STASIS sci-fi horror adventure Linux beta

stasis sci-fi - horror adventure on linux mac windows games

Since #STASIS is a point-and-click, sci-fi horror adventure game for Mac and #Windows. Hence the Linux beta release is available now in a recent Steam update.
So the #games played from a unique isometric perspective. STASIS mixes a gruesome narrative with retro adventure gameplay. Therefore players will have to combine items and interact with computers. Solving puzzles while experiencing the gritty atmosphere.
Although there are a few frustrating mid-game puzzles. Hence the lack of support for high resolutions. Since I have to mess with the config.ini file so the games working in the right monitor. My first problems couldn’t hold up against protagonist John Maracheck. Aboard a seemingly abandoned spacecraft, John Maracheck awakes from stasis. He must push himself to new physical and emotional limits and unravel the mysteries around him.

John is in tremendous pain. His wife and daughter are missing. Time is running out as the Groomlake plunges further into the swirling blue methane clouds of Neptune.

STASIS Features:

  • Challenging and realistic puzzles
  • Cinematic AAA music composed by Mark Morgan (Fallout)
  • Highly detailed 2D isometric graphics
  • Classic point-and-click interaction
  • Multiple characters to engage and work with
  • John can (and will) die in the most horrific ways imaginable
  • Special objects can be used on John himself to end it all
  • A holographic stripper

How to play the STASIS Linux Beta:

  • UNLOCK LINUX BETA

Since I did manage to get STASIS working on Linux. The games launch window keeps opening on the wrong monitor. So having to edit the config.ini file in the game files is essential. Having to put the title into Windowed mode for the time being. Which leaves a much lower resolution and there no way to adjust the audio. So launching STASIS on Linux is loud. There is no menu option to change that or resolution, even on Windows.

STASIS launches in wrong monitor fix/workaround:

Right-click the game on Steam, Properties, Local Files, Browse Local files, then edit “config.ini“. Use the following settings and adjust to your preferences.

FULLSCREEN=no
RESOLUTION=1920×1080
FILE=Stasis.vis
Brightness=100
RESIZEABLE=yes
LOGLEVEL=info
TEXTSCALE=2
UseTextureForWidescreen=yes
configUpdated=x
MusicVolume = 90
SoundVolume = 80
SpeechVolume = 80
MovieVolume = 80
GlobalVolume = 100

So STASIS can be accessed via Steam with a 66% discount until July 5th. The horror games Linux beta branch is the only available build at the moment. Since Humble Store and GOG only support the Windows and Mac builds so far.
