The Steam Summer Sale 2016 has arrived, as we posted it would back in May, coming loaded with huge savings on #newgames and #DLC for Linux, Mac and Windows PC.
Every year, the Steam Summer Sale 2016 is like the carnival #sale for games. Always eager to promote the catalogue of Valve partners, publishers and developers to offer big discounts on games. Some of the titles offered are indie, but many of them are franchises that even the casual gamer could recognize, like Payday 2 and GRID Autosport. Dying Light: The Following – Enhanced Edition has a fine discount along with other choice titles like Darkest Dungeon.
Like in years past, some of the Steam library is on sale for as much as 75% off its regular purchase price.
Searching the Steam Store to find savings offered for interesting titles to avoid paying full price is somewhat of a tradition. Rather than having the same deals, expect some fine discounts until July 4th, as Valve will offer new deals every day. So if you have your eye on something and it is not available in the store at a discount now, hold on and keep checking back. And keep in mind, install the Steam client on your PC or your phone.
Also, not all games are available on every platform. For example, Cities: Skylines is on both Linux, Mac and Windows PC. Homeworld Remastered is only available on Mac and Windows PC. We have hoped to see a native port for Homeworld, but alas.
Today’s highlighted deals include as much as half off on the The Mean Greens – Plastic Warfare. BioShock Infinite and the latest grand-strategy game from Paradox Development Studio, Stellaris, a recently released and very popular strategy game at $34.99. Hopefully we will see Hearts of Iron IV in the mix too.
Salt and Sanctuary is only 10% off right now, so hopefully we will see a further discount there as well for this “must have”.
In an effort to appeal to less sophisticated gamers, Valve introduced an some PC gaming accessories. These are a part of Steam Summer Sale 2016, the Steam Link add-on that lets users take their PC games into the living room, is $34.99. Down from $49.99. The Steam Controller is $34.99, regularly costs $59.99.
