SWAP/MEAT, the co-op roguelite third-person shooter where you raid bizarre worlds. You will also battle some seriously angry aliens for their meat. And it’s due to make its big debut at the Future Games Show @ Gamescom on Wednesday, August 21, at 1PM Pacific Time. This title isn’t just stopping there, though — it’s also been picked for the Devcom Indie Showcase, The MIX Seattle, and the Seattle Indies Expo.
After its spotlight at Gamescom and PAX, SWAP/MEAT is gearing up for its next playtest. Which also begins soon, Friday, September 6th, at 11 AM Pacific Time and runs until noon on Tuesday, September 10th. If you’re eager to dive in, you can apply to join the Linux playtest (steamdb). SWAP/MEAT – A New Co-Op Roguelite Shooter
In this title, you and up to three friends play as ‘Meat Scientists’ for Rangus Meats. A multi-galactic company that’s all about finding the ultimate sustainable meat product for the universe (or so they say). You’ll be dropping onto some seriously tough planets, taking on hostile locals, and ‘swapping meat’ with the weird aliens you take down. It’s all about customizing your character by attaching strange and usually squishy body parts. So heads, legs, torsos — you name it. These new parts also give you unique abilities that let you switch up your playstyle as you go. It’s all about adapting and surviving.
If your SWAP/MEAT squad manages to extract the ‘meat cores’ from three planets, get ready for a showdown. You’ll be facing off against a bizarre boss in a brutal brawl that’ll test everything you’ve got. Victory tastes best when you earn it.
