Swords ‘n Magic and Stuff the adventure game inches closer to a port for Linux with Windows PC. Due to the creative efforts of developer Kindred Games. Upholding 93% Very Positive reviews via Steam Early Access.
With a super successful Kickstarter, Swords ‘n Magic and Stuff is doing very well in Early Access. Having released in September of 2020 helped develop the project into a dream game. Mainly sporting support for Windows PC, it seems the developers are in fact working on a Linux build.
…a quick email and let you know that we’ve successfully packaged a Linux build recently. And are putting it through the testing process right now.
While this is good news, we should have a Swords ‘n Magic and Stuff Linux build available soon. Provided everything goes as smoothly as possible with Unreal Engine 4 development.
However, the developers also point out the Windows PC will get priority for game updates. Mainly due to the team not having experience with Linux. This means, in the long run, Kindred Games will rely heavily on the Linux community for testing. Then when time allows, address any outstanding issues.
Given the already successful nature of Swords ‘n Magic and Stuff. The developers are keeping active with updates and community interaction. And let’s face it, despite minor issues, native Linux support is far better than just Proton support.
