Tabletop gaming is always interesting, but even moreso when available for Linux. Table Top Racing World Tour #combat #racing #game from Playrise Digital has been in development for the past year or so. A mix of Micro Machines and Mario Kart, from Wipeout co-creator Nick Burcombe and Playrise Digital. Now it looks like the title will be making a Steam debut, sometime between April and June, after a few months of exclusivity on PS4.
Table Top Racing: World Tour will handle up to 8 players, with the choice of 12 customizable cars to race, battle with weapons and power-ups on 20 dynamic circuits (both offline against AI and online). Right now it is not clear if the PC version will comes with the console-style splitscreen local multiplayer.
Further confirmation has not been released nor a full list of supported platforms on Steam, but we do know the title has been developed in Unity 5 according to an IGN post.
Linux Game News has reached out to Playrise Digital, but no further details are available at this time. However the studio did not deny claims of a Linux port, but outlined that “more news will follow soon.” Which gives us hope of what is yet to come. Even though there is no entry listed in the Steamdb, yet.
