Ultra HD Texture Pack is coming to both Borderlands 2 and The Pre-Sequel games on Linux and Mac. According to a recent Twitter post from Aspyr Media. Since the new DLC is out now on Windows via Steam. Linux is not left out of the mix.
Pitchford made the announcement during a PAX East panel, stating “it’s no secret, obviously there’s going to be another Borderlands“. However it may not be ‘Borderlands 3‘. “We don’t even know if we’re going to call it that. We could call it Borderlands 4 for all we know.”
Mikey Neumann, who voices mechanic Scooter in the main series, will be handling the writing. In fact, there is already a new character in mind, Scooper – the son of Scooter. “I did this whole Scooter thing, then I pitch-shifted it up like seven semitones so it sounds like a chipmunk and it was the funniest thing I’d ever heard.” Sounding more like Borderlands indeed.
The developer hinted is that Battleborn‘s DLC will have lots of references to Borderlands 3. Which may be the only way that Gearbox manages to introduce new expansion packs for its forthcoming game.
In other Gearbox-related news, characters from its upcoming Battleborn, which is due to launch next month for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Windows PC, will be made available as musicians in Rock Band 4.

Reports are still coming in about the #developers behind #BorderlandsThePreSequel closing its doors for good. A Canberra-based studio, 2K Australia, is no longer operating, and apparently the last major game development studio in Australia.
According to Kotaku Australia, the company ended up folding under after high-level members of the studio left. Sources close to the situation, at one point, thought a move to Melbourne was planned in an attempt to help attract new talent to the studio. This allegedly caused many high-level members of the team to leave and that may have factored into 2K’s decision to shut down the studio. While operating costs in Australia were speculated as a factor in the decision for 2K to close down the studio.
Karl Slatoff, the president of New York-based Take-Two, #confirmed this in this afternoon’s analyst call for the company’s third fiscal quarter ended Dec. 31.
The move shows that Take-Two and Gearbox are doubling-down on the Borderlands property, which recently saw the debut of Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel and Telltale’s Tales From the Borderlands point-and-click adventure series.
Borderlands is an action role-playing FPS video game with a good sense of humor. Slatoff said that Take-Two isn’t yet ready to say when the new Borderlands will debut yet. The first game in the series debuted in 2009.
Gearbox is also working on Battleborn, an all-new intellectual property developed for PS4, Xbox One, and PC targeted at shooter and action game fans. Linux Game News has yet to confirm Linux support.
