hello neighbor and the alpha 4 in linux gaming news

As you, the stealth horror games Hello Neighbor continues to be in gaming news. Hence a games where players sneak into your neighbor’s house. All to figure out what horrible secrets are hiding in the basement. So obviously you play against an advanced AI. The challenge is to re-engineer your tactics as the AI learns from your moves.
Therefore, if you really like climbing through that backyard window? Expect a bear trap next time. How about sneaking through the front door? There’ll be cameras there soon. Trying to escape? Hence the Neighbor will find a shortcut and catch you.

Hello Neighbor Early Alpha announced now!

Hello Neighbor Early Alpha announced for linux mac pc

Announcing Hello Neighbor Early Alpha Access, a way for you to get involved in the #behindthescenes of Hello Neighbor! After the #overwhelminglypositive reactions tinyBuild received about the Open Pre-Alpha, with incredible amounts of ideas and feedback.

You can now support the game by buying Hello Neighbor Early Alpha Access, and this is what you’ll get

  • A new Alpha 1 build available instantly
  • All future weird, glitchy, in-between builds will be available to check out
  • Behind-the-scenes glimpse at what’s coming
  • The PC (including Linux) version of Hello Neighbor on launch day

You can still play the Pre-Alpha version for free. Meanwhile here is what the Alpha 1 has:

  • Large 2-story house
  • Sharks
  • Puzzles (try to solve the math puzzle, it triggers PTSD in me)
  • BB-guns, phones, graveyards — you name it!
  • Works only on 64bit!

In this build there is no basement gameplay. Please keep that in mind, it will end with a cut-scene when you get into the basement. Remember that the full game won’t end there. The purpose of the Alpha 1 is to see which of the gameplay elements work best, and if a house layout with two floors like this actually works. Adding an extra floor adds a ton of complexity to the AI, while able to get him to use the elevator and predict your movement across both floors.

Amongst other things in this build the Neighbor’s movement speed is drastically reduced. This will give some players more chances to play around with the AI and figure out puzzles. tinyBuild do not know yet how fast he should be vs the players’ speed.

If you want to try out the Pre-Alpha demo of Hello Neighbor, register and get the PC version of the game Here.

Hello Neighbor Pre-Alpha weekend almost here

Hello Neighbor Pre-Alpha weekend almost here

Hello Neighbor Pre-Alpha is happening this weekend? That means tinyBuild are releasing the Pre-Alpha build that has been shared with #Youtubers and #Streamers.

  • Everyone who is signed up to the list will get a DRM-free Hello Neighbor Pre-Alpha, that all are free to distribute
  • If you backed the Guts & Glory Kickstarter, you’ve already gotten a Steam Key. The difference is that the Steam key will get you future updates automatically, and sooner than the normal list.
  • tinyBuild will figure out a way to allow people to get Steam keys for upcoming updates.
tinyBuild has 10 Steam keys to giveaway right now! For a chance to win
(these grant you instant access to the Hello Neighbor Pre-Alpha and future updates)

A few weeks ago tinyBuild sent out the Pre-Alpha to select people, and you may have caught a few Lets Plays here and there. The Pre-Alpha is meant to test out the core mechanic of the game and check stability. Both are (mostly) a win, and tinyBuild will be sharing that build publicly with everyone next week.

SIGN-UP FOR THE PRE-ALPHA

  • A very small house with just the ground floor.
  • The Neighbor’s AI works as intended, but will occasionally glitch out and start throwing tomatoes at you non-stop
  • The controls, the graphics, and the house layout are all placeholder. The final visual style is going to be similar with the one shown in the Basement Gameplay Teaser.
  • It’s a small fraction of the game

Do keep in mind, if you sign up for the Hello Neighbor Pre-Alpha this will be a Windows PC build for now. Linux will be coming with the full release.

Hello Neighbor Alpha for backing Guts and Glory

Hello Neighbor Alpha for backing Guts and Glory

The hype to check out the Hello Neighbor Alpha, the #stealth #horror #game is huge. Now access is available for Guts and Glory backers. In fact, the amount of attention around the game is by far the biggest tinyBuild has ever seen.

While tinyBuild are not ready yet to give out builds to everyone that signed up, they are going to give out Pre-Alpha keys to everyone who backs the Guts and Glory Kickstarter at $25 or higher. An interesting cross promotion taking place, where those who pledge get all the rewards of the actual Kickstarter, and a Pre-Alpha key for Hello Neighbor Alpha.

What is Hello Neighbor?

Furthermore, tinyBuild will give you an actual Steam Key for Hello Neighbor vs sending a separate build. So you’ll get to see the game evolve as it gets closer to release. This way developers can have version control and prevent a buggy build from leaking into the wild.

  • Back the Guts and Glory Kickstarter at $25 or higher
  • Get a Steam key for the Hello Neighbor Alpha, well the Pre-Alpha first, if the Kickstarter is successful. This will be known in 7 days.
  • Keep the Steam key and get updates as the game progresses

Here is the Guts And Glory Kickstarter Trailer:

We posted news about the Guts And Glory Kickstarter a few days ago. The attention and hype for that game is going strong. It’s a sadistic but gory stunt game that pits players against both physics and momentum, while trying to avoid being chopped into pieces. Try it for yourself, the Pre-Alpha Demo is Free and there is a Linux build.
