Hence “2 the Moon” i.e. the “action” game in the first part of the trailer is just a joke.”

To the Moon the #narrative-driven #scifi #adventure is getting a full sequel called Finding Paradise, due next summer on Linux, Mac and Windows pC.

Like To the Moon, the adventure will star doctors Eva and Neil, performing an operation that instils false happy memories for people on their death bed.

System requirements note that Finding Paradise will run on a Potato+:

“Dr. Rosalene and Dr. Watts have peculiar jobs: They give people another chance to live, all the way from the very beginning… but only in their patients’ heads.

Due to the severity of the operation, the new life becomes the last thing the patients remember before drawing their last breath. Thus, the operation is only done to people on their deathbeds, to fulfill what they wish they had done with their lives, but didn’t.

Finding Paradise is the first full sequel to To the Moon, with some spin-off episodes including A Bird Story.

Kan Gao continues releasing ever title in the series as a standalone affair. “The games are designed to be standalone: Each episode follows two doctors’ journey through a patient’s memories in their last moments, and completes the said life story within the episode,” the developer stated. “Although there are some overarching plot regarding the doctors and world as well, those too could be made sense in reverse chronological order.”

Finding Paradise has a Steam page available boasting Linux, Mac and Windows PC support. Find out more details on the official Freebirds website, Twitter, Facebook and YouTube.

#FreebirdGames #announced the second episode of To the Moon‘s series, Finding Paradise, set to #release at the end of 2016 for Linux, Mac and Windows PC. “But,” its developer adds sleazily, “given how my past release schedules have been, it’s probably gonna be early 2017 instead.”

Along with the announcement is a teaser video, demoing a track from the game’s OST, “Time Is a Place”:

About Finding Paradise:

Like its predecessor, the game follows two doctors as they traverse through a patient’s memories to artificially fulfill their last wish.
While the patient, Colin, is the boy from A Bird Story all grown up, Finding Paradise is a self-contained story that does not require having played either A Bird Story or To the Moon as prerequisite (although their added context would affect the experience).

Above: The massive graphical improvement is one of many upgrades going from To the Moon to Finding Paradise. Minimum technical specs to be determined.

As with all the episodes in the series, it features a main plotline revolving around the patient’s life story, as well as an over-arching plot involving the doctors themselves. Like the storytelling in each episode themselves, the player doesn’t have to take on the games in their chronological release-order to partake in the over-arching plot.
