Battle Worlds: Kronos now available on Linux, Mac, and PC

As of now, the Kickstarter-backed #strategy #game  Battle Worlds: Kronos by german developer King Art Games is available through #Steam, GOG and the game’s dedicated website. Plattforms are #PC , Mac and #Linux . Kickstarter backers have already received their product key via e-mail.The game is released as promised, on time and without cumbersome copy-protection (DRM). It features about 30 hours of solo gameplay and free cross-platform multiplayer. Also, buyers will get the DLC ‘Trains’ for free when it’s published early next year.

‘This is it. We have done our best to help the once-great genre of turn-based strategy make a comeback. We publish Battle Worlds as a modern take on a classic genre and a bow to our great forerunners like Battle Isle or Advance Wars. If you, like us, believe that turn-based strategy should be strong again, please support us by buying the game!’ said Jan Theysen, CEO of King Art Games.

Please note: Versions for iOS and Android tablets are announced for early 2014.

Battle Worlds: Kronos coming to Linux, Mac, and Windows PC Nov 4

#BattleWorldsKronos, a #turn-based #strategy #game from King Art Games, will launch on Nov. 4 DRM-free worldwide for #Windows PC, Mac and #Linux, the developer announced today.

Available from Steam, GoG.com and other distribution platforms, the game will feature support for several languages and versions for iOS and Android will follow in early 2014. Battle Worlds features different multiplayer factions with varying skills and strengths. It also includes single and multiplayer maps, along with asynchronous multiplayer and a map editor.

“We’re giving the customers a good large game for their money,” CEO of King Art Games Jan Theysen said in a statement. “We provide free cross-platform multiplayer, a league and — early next year — the free DLC ‘Trains,’ which contains a new campaign and introduces a whole new unit class. We think that’s a pretty good deal. If enough players support us by buying the game legally instead of pirating it, we’ll adopt a no-DRM policy as a company policy.”

While boxed retail copies and digital downloads will be DRM-free, copies bought through platforms such as the AppStore or Steam will feature copy-protection.

The Battle Worlds project achieved its $120,000 Kickstarter goal on April 5 with 22 days remaining on its campaign. It successfully made through Valve’s Steam Greenlight vetting process later that month.

Kronos Promises To Bring A New Vision To Turn-Based Strategy Games

”kronos-promises-a-new-vision-to-turn-based-strategy-games”

Battle Worlds: Kronos has been a labor of love for developer KING Art Games. Originally created more than six years ago, the project has taken Kickstarter by storm and has more than doubled its original goal by the campaigns closing three days ago.

Designed for Mac, PC, Linux, and Web browsers, an iPad version of the game will also come to fruition.

The game has a singular focus: to bring the turn-based strategy game into the modern age for experienced players. Taking a dose of inspiration from classics like Battle Isle and Advanced Wars, the title stays true to the genre as players must use their available resources to the best effect possible in the battle for Kronos.

Here’s a quick video about the project.

Along with single-player campaigns and challenge maps, users can take on their friends in the live multiplayer mode. The asynchronous multiplayer option will let gamers take all the time they need to consider their moves. The round is stored on a server and then turned over to the opponent.

Estimated to be released in December 2013.
