Immortal Redneck FPS rogue-lite coming April 25th

immortal redneck fps rogue-lite coming april 25th in linux gaming news

Right now in gaming news, Immortal Redneck has been #announced for a #release on Steam. Hence an #FPS rogue-lite that is set in Egypt, which is releasing on April 25th for Linux, Mac and Windows PC. Since the gameplay mixes old-school and first-person shooter action with those rogue-lite mechanics. Hence this Unity based title is some crazy gameplay. Players will use twitch controls in the randomly generated dungeons. Complete with a skill tree, perma-death and 9 different character classes.

So players take on the roll of the redneck on holiday in Egypt. Following a serious accident, you awake to find yourself mummified in ancient Egypt. From here players will have to learn how you survived the accident. Hence figuring out how you ended up in ancient Egypt. Since the answers are inside of the three death-laden pyramids. Each one is filled with a variety of monsters and bosses, news flash, they who want to kill you.

  • RogueLite mechanics: procedurally generated dungeons, classes, skills, permanent death. But with gameplay progression
  • Nine playable classes: all with different skill sets. Players can switch classes between each play through. Selecting the one most suitable for their current run
  • Complete skill tree: evolve your character. Buying equipment and weapons. Upgrading and acquiring new skills
  • History Mode: single player game mode. Clear all the pyramids in order to complete the game.
  • Twitch Quest: special mode for streamers integrated with the Twitch API
  • Over 50 different weapons: traditional firearms, magical, mythological, futuristic. Or just plain weird weapons including a Potato Launcher. You name it, this game has it.
  • Over 100 scroll modifiers: Each scroll picked up in-game changes your current run, for good (convert your enemies in to chickens) or for bad (reduces your speed of movement) and everything in between!
  • Huge bosses: two in each pyramid
  • Merchant: Buy equipment and supplies that will be maintained between different games, even when you die
  • Skill Rooms: hone your skills in rooms focused on platforming and avoiding a variety of traps

Since the whole FPS rogue-lite concept of Immortal Redneck is created in a classic play style. Probably not news to anyone who grew up with FPS gaming. Hence mixing Quake 3 Arena with Tower of Guns, which made a debut in Humble Indie Bundle 13. Yet I’m still looking forward to the potatoe launcher.

What will be the launch price?
Is not decided yet

Will we see day-one Linux support?
Yes, thats the idea, if nothing goes wrong will be day1 support

There will be a 10% discount the first week.

Immortal Redneck will be available via Steam for Linux, Mac and Windows PC on April 25th.

Streets of Rogue rogue-lite co-op stealth shooter RPG brawler launches on Early Access

streets of rogue rogue-lite co-op stealth shooter rpg brawler launches on linux mac pc

Streets of Rogue is a rogue-lite co-op stealth #shooter RPG #brawler mega #game. Hence now available on Early Access for Linux, Mac and Windows PC. While also featuring online multiplayer and an insane amount of characters and in-game items.

“Early Access allows players to help shape the game in a way that’s never been possible before — and Streets of Rogue is EXACTLY the sort of game that can greatly benefit in this regard. The game’s world is super goofy and chaotic, and lends itself to having a wide variety of weird and wacky content. This, combined with the open-ended nature of the gameplay, means that if anyone has a suggestion for something cool they want to see in the game (items, character types, playfield objects, etc.), there’s a very good chance I’ll be able to add it!”

Since Streets of Rogue gameplay takes inspiration from fast-paced top-down rogue-lites. Hence games like Binding of Isaac and Nuclear Throne, and adds free-form, experimentation-driven, emergent gameplay elements of RPGs like Deus Ex.

Rather than taking place in a dungeon, the game is set in a functioning, procedurally generated city. While Linux players will appreciate the complex AI informs denizens from all walks of life. Those who are just trying to get by in their daily activities.

So in order to progress, the player will need to accomplish specific mission goals. And doing so in any way they see fit through use of their special character traits, items, and the environment.

Current state of the Early Access version?

“The core game is extremely playable and polished. Though it may contain a few more bugs than I’d like, most of these aren’t the sort of bugs that will break your game. It’s more the “banana transforms into a stove for no reason” variety. Most of the major planned features are implemented and working, such as local and online coop, unlockables, and game mutators. Online coop will likely have more bugs than other game modes.”

Streets of Rogue Features:

  • Play the game YOUR way! Don’t want to kill anybody? That’s cool! Want to hack computers? Got ya covered!
  • Random world generation and TOTALLY EXTREME gameplay variety means you can play for 600 hours and not get bored! Seriously though, go outside!!!
  • Super-advanced artificial intelligence that won’t put up with your crap! Outsmart these virtual humans and feel superior to your computer!
  • Play as over 20 (and growing!) wildly different types of characters! Bartender, scientist, hacker, gorilla — hey, your job is probably in there too!
  • Stupidly huge variety of items! Shrink rays, hypnotizing devices, boomboxes, bear traps, food processors.. Oh, and guns too.
  • 4-Player online and local cooperative modes lets you brutalize goons AND loneliness!
  • Lead a gang, free slaves, drink beer, gib ghosts, become a vampire, shrink people and stomp on them. The most insanely varied game ever made.

Streets of Rogue rogue-lite co-op stealth shooter RPG brawler is available on Early Access. Hence the released with a 10% discount until March 17th for Linux, Mac and Windows PC.

So, do you know what’s more #dangerous than space? #Criminals in #space. Hence the three-person studio, Mind Grown Software, behind Convicted Galaxy. So the studio will be asking for $10,225 to hit their campaign goal as it goes live in January.

Hence the escaped prisoners grow in numbers and strength with every passing moment. Build space stations and support structures around planets. So upgrade your ship, and siege enemy locations in an effort to gain strength while weakening the enemy. Take risks when necessary, but don’t forget that you only have one chance.

  • Deploy a variety of satellites for additional station support
  • Upgrade your spaceship with powerful weaponry and combine special abilities to increase survivability
  • Rescue pilots from disabled escape pods to unlock new technologies and discover what happened to the correctional ship
  • One chance at each unique galaxy, so make it count
  • Fight off hostile factions and destroy their space stations in a race to discover a way out of the Convicted Galaxy

Convicted Galaxy is expected to release in May 2017 on Linux, Mac and Windows PC. So depending on how well the Kickstarter does; the studio may also consider a port on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Also check out Convicted Galaxy Steam.

The Kickstarter campaign for Convicted Galaxy goes live on January 3rd, 2017. Pledging a minimum of $9 will earn you a copy of the game releases next year.
