The Dwarves RPG releases new gameplay trailer for Linux, Mac and Windows PC

The Dwarves are back and with a fine new gameplay trailer too, featuring the perfect soundtrack for #tactical pause and play #combat. Developer #KINGArtGames also has an update on the game’s timeline:

Beta is Now Live
Later today, the Beta starts for everyone who supported The Dwarves on its successful Kickstarter campaign last year (slacker backers can still get it from the store. KING Art Games has already received great feedback from the alpha, which has helped to massively improve The Dwarves even further. For example, the idea for an optional pause-function during the real-time combat came from the players. By widening the player base significantly through the Beta, KING Art Games is looking forward to receiving even more feedback, criticism and ideas from The Dwarves community.

Fall Release Window
The final release of The Dwarves will shift slightly from Summer to Fall 2016. Reason number one is to be able to implement all community feedback, whilst reason number two is so that there is a simultaneous release on PC and consoles, digitally and in traditional retail worldwide.

Development on The Dwarves is mostly complete: all characters are ready, the story is done, the voice-acting is finished, the orchestra and the chorus have performed their art and Girdlegard, the game’s world, shines in all its splendor. If you are eagerly awaiting The Dwarves’ release, you can already add it to your Steam wishlist.

The Dwarves forging an alliance with the band Blind Guardian

Dwarves are tough. Forged from stone by their god, Vraccas, they are rough warriors and skilled craftsmen. A never-ending love for all kinds of minerals that resides in their blood, so there is only one kind of music to complement the thunder of their sledgehammers, and the clash of their battle axes; METAL!

KING Art is happy to #announce a #partnership with the legendary German band, Blind Guardian!

Not only will musicians from Blind Guardian perform parts of The Dwarves official soundtrack in their own unique style, but there will also be a special quest involving Blind Guardian integrated in the game itself.

To perfectly blend these additions into the fantasy-world of Girdlegard, the developers from KING Art and Blind Guardian are cooperating closely with the author of The Dwarves book series, ensuring that the adventure remains true to the spirit of the narrative.

A new video documents the journey of some KING Art’s developers as they get an exclusive chance to sit in on Blind Guardian’s studio, where members of the band are performing music from The Dwarves for the first time.

About Blind Guardian

Since 1984 German metal-band Blind Guardian has mixed fast and powerful metal with fantasy-style music, and slower paced ballads. For example, the Album “Nightfall” – a musical tribute to the world of J.R.R. Tolkien’s Lord of the Rings. Songs, such as “The Bards Song”, are not only everlasting hits, they also show how Blind Guardian is able and willing to tell a story with their music. Their latest work, “Beyond the Red Mirror” from 2015, continues their track record. Blind Guardian is currently on tour in South America. They will reach US soil late October 2015, starting in Baltimore and will proceed to New York, Philadelphia, Minneapolis and many other cities along the way. You can find the full tour-dates and any further information about Blind Guardian on their official homepage.

The Dwarves new storydriven fantasy RPG announces Linux and Mac support

Linux Game News received a very welcoming email this morning from #KINGArt Games. The Dwarves Kickstarter has issued a new #update #announcing both Linux and Mac support.

KING Art Games replied to our email with this recent update on Kickstarter along with dynamic list of Stetch Goals:

Many of you contacted us to ask, if we could make Mac and Linux versions, just like we did for “Battle Worlds: Kronos” and “The Book of Unwritten Tales 2”.

We ported the current version of the game to Mac and Linux computers for test purposes and basically there seem to be less problems than we had anticipated. We roughly calculated the effort needed and decided to grab the bull by the horns.

So, yes: There will be Mac & Linux versions of “The Dwarves“, if the Kickstarter is successful!

We didn’t put both versions in the Stretch Goals, because we want to give you the guarantee that you’ll really get the version you want, if you support us. Please help us, to get enough Mac/Linux fans supporting the campaign. Go to forums and groups, link to the campaign and ask editors to cover “The Dwarves”.

So if you have been holding off on your pledge to The Dwarves Kickstarter, now is the time to get in on the action. Currently there are 2,775 backers and $135,253 pledged of the $260,000 funding goal for both an impressive and rather rare game-type.

Also, if you do not own a credit card and still want to support The Dwarves, do so via dwarves-game.com. But NOTE, the money pledged through the website does NOT count toward the Kickstarter Funding Goal or the Stretch Goals. If you have the option, support the project on Kickstarter.
