Rocket League to get modding support on Workshop

rocket league to get modding support on steam workshop

Developer #Psyonix extended their a hand to the modding #community for Rocket League.

Rocket League already has an active modding community. Yet, as of next month this will be easier than ever to share custom arenas.

As a result this December, Pysonix will enable support via Steam Workshop support. Allowing modders to upload their custom levels to the Rocket League Steam Community hub. Which seems like anyone can subscribe. In-game, players will be able to access content through the new Workshop Levels feature.

Previously it has been a real task to access mods. Hence having players modify game files to use them. Unfortunately there is no word on modding tools for Linux. Therefore, that would take a lot of work. Yet so far modders seem to be doing alright with Unreal Engine 3 UDK.

The modding community like our fans on the RocketLeagueMods subreddit, have built some fantastic stuff using the Unreal Engine 3 UDK over the past year — including frenchfries’ own Rocket League Obstacle Course [rocketleaguemods.com](pictured above) and Dribbling Challenge #1[rocketleaguemods.com] to name just a few. With our new Steam Workshop support, it will be much easier for modders to share creations without having to edit game files.

Mods will be made available to all Rocket League players on Steam, whether they use Linux, Mac or Windows PC.

Playing community-made Workshop Levels is as simple as subscribing to the new Arenas in the coming soon Workshop section of our Steam Community Hub. You can find the Community Hub HERE, or by clicking on the Community tab in Steam, then searching for ‘Rocket League‘ under Hubs.

Psyonix has more planned for the December Rocket League update. As a result stay tuned for more info coming in the next few weeks.

XCOM 2 co-op now available thanks to Workshop mod

XCOM 2 co-op now available thanks to Workshop mod linux mac pc

XCOM 2 co-op has arrived for two players at once with the first beta release of the mod. The hope for the mod is to support a full twelve-player co-op. While still making gameplay that much more interesting with someone to organize with, share in the experience and strategy, someone to plan and scheme with, and someone to blame when snakes are choking out your champ.

Official Mod Support and Steam Workshop coming to Total War: WARHAMMER

Creative Assembly is pleased to announce that both the Assembly Kit and Steam Workshop support will be added to Total War: WARHAMMER for launch. The #development team will be assisting some #modders in readying their mods to #release day and date with the game itself.

Though it was announced previously that the title would not benefit from official mod and Workshop support, CA and Games Workshop have been working away on the paperwork to make this much-demanded fan feature a reality.

So, from launch, players will be able to:

  • Visit Steam Workshop For TotalWar: WARHAMMER – and upload, browse, follow, discuss and install available mods straight from Steam, and access and manage them from the new Total War Mod Manager.
  • Get the Assembly Kit – CA’s modding tool box previously released for S, will release with the Database Editor and BOB for modifying and exporting database tables and campaign start positions, with the aim to add further functionality, including battle map editing, later in the year.
  • Download Mods – Attendees to CA’s Mod Summits over the last three years will be supplied early access to the game, to help populate the Steam Workshop from day one. Also, well-known modders Magnar and Dresden will receive specific help from the dev team to produce certain mods. Magnar is designing a Legendary Lord Start Position Mod; customising start positions so that Legendary Lords will start in different locations from Race Leaders, while Dresden is engineering a Regional Occupation Mod; altering the settlement rules to enable each race to settle every region.

Alongside the enabling of Steam Workshop, the DotA2 Team at Valve announced last week that they will be accepting submissions for a new Warhammer-themed treasure to mark the release of the game. Also free for any pre-orders made on the platform, further details can be found here.

Total War: WARHAMMER is available from the 24 th May. Tune in to Twitch now for a look at the Greenskins campaign twitch.tv/totalwarofficial.
