Tandem: A Tale of Shadows puzzle platformer game is due to get a port for Linux with Windows PC. Thanks to the brilliant creative minds of Monochrome Paris. Due to release this fall on Steam and GOG.

Developer Monochrome and Publisher Hatinh Interactive have unveiled a release date. While they gear up for the upcoming dreamlike, action and adventure puzzle platformer Tandem: A Tale of Shadows. Emma and teddy bear Fenton’s perilous search across PC, Switch, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One platforms is due to begin on October 21. However, according to the developer’s email, it looks like Linux will be in the mix as well.

The game is made with Unreal Engine 4 and yes it will be available on Linux.

While Monochrome confirms Unreal Engine 4, they still do not specify a day one release. Which are almost the same details as the June reply via the Discussions post. Although the good news, the main developer is a “strong supporter of the open source community”. This also explains why Linux is in the mix. Although Unreal Engine 4 does not make porting as easy as say, Unity 3D.

Also, the latest Tandem: A Tale of Shadows trailer showcases the title’s dual protagonist gameplay. While offering a new glimpse of the illusory dangers that await the pair. Since they will attempt to solve the mystery surrounding Thomas Kane’s disappearance.

The video, which debuted at IGN’s Gamescom: Awesome Indies presentation. Which also shows off more of the Tandem’s jaw dropping visuals and the chiaroscuro dimensions. Which are stunning. All inspired by Jules Vernes, Conan Doyle, and Tim Burton. But fans can expect to traverse a bit of the adventure in the game’s Demo. Which happens to work well via the Proton on Steam. In Tandem: A Tale of Shadows, players will alternate between Emma’s top-down view. Switching to Fenton’s horizontal side scroller view. All using the former’s lantern to cast shadows the teddy bear can cross. In turn, the latter can activate switches that may be out of view. Which you can check out first hand in the Demo.

Each of the game’s chapters will introduce fans to new mechanics. As a result, there is more that you must master if they hope to defeat the horrifying monsters that await. Players will sink into Tandem: A Tale of Shadows’s five strange worlds. There they’ll stitch together answers surrounding the vanishment of the Kane family. And also shed some light on the title’s dauntless heroes.
