Texas game DLC coming to Them’s Fightin’ Herds on Linux, Mac, and Windows PC. Which is due to the ongoing creativity of developer Mane6, Inc. The base game is available on Steam and Humble Store.
Modus Games and Mane6 today announced the 8th playable character to join the game roster. All due to arrive next week: Texas the Bull. A big-body grappler who’s smashing records on size and power. The critically acclaimed four-legged fighting game Them’s Fightin’ Herds is available now across Linux, Mac, and Windows PC. New arrival Texas will be available as a standalone purchase on December 19th. But also as part of the Season 1 Pass, and comes with the brand-new “Caravan Cattledome” stage.
The Texas DLC is coming to Them’s Fightin’ Herds, a four-button, 2D fighting game. One featuring a cast of characters designed by Lauren Faust. Who is also the producer and developer for My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic; creator, director, and developer for Super Best Friends Forever. You know, and the Texas DLC. Plus you can tussle in Arcade and Local Versus Modes. You can also practice in Tutorial and Training Modes. Then dive into the game’s many online matchmaking features (with GGPO rollback netcode). Due to test yourself against players from around the world. Or explore an episodic Story Mode that blends top-down adventure with fighting game combat challenges.

Originally, we had intended to complete both Texas and “Character #9” in 2022. But due to the unique challenges of Texas development, all the other characters in the Season 1 Pass will now be coming out in 2023. Thankfully, production on “Character #9” is going much, MUCH faster so far. We hope to update you on our progress soon!
On Texas release day, we will be doing a post-patch stream to provide a breakdown of Texas as a character and talk about our process of development. The stream will be on Dec 19 at our usual time of 3pm PT on twitch.tv/mane6dev.
Texas is the first drop in the Season 1 Pass, due to be available separately or as part of Them’s Fightin’ Herds: Deluxe Edition for $39.99. The Season 1 Pass includes four additional playable characters, four unique stages, four exclusive Pixel Lobby accessories, and an exclusive palette for each character. The Deluxe Edition is available to purchase on Steam.
Texas can be yours with the purchase of a Season 1 Pass ($19.99 USD / £15.49 / 16,79€). He can also be unlocked separately in his own DLC pack ($4.99 USD / £3.99 / 3,99€). Owners of the Deluxe Edition of TFH automatically unlock all Season 1 Pass content without having to do anything extra!
