The Masterplan coming to Early Access

Indie transatlantic game development team Shark Punch for Linux, Mac and Windows, at team that was founded since 2010 and have worked together since their former work at  Disney Interactive. Back in March, the indie game development team with roots in the Helsinki game development scene had announced that they working on their 2D action packed #strategy heist game, The Masterplan. With the recent greenlight on Steam for the game, it is only days away from the release of ‘the greatest heist in the history of mankind’, on PC, Mac, and PC via Steam Early Access. During Early Access, players will be able to get the game for $14.99, and will be able to help out the developers in improving the game, which once released will be going for $19.99.

In The Masterplan, players will get to experience a game that is inspired by legendary tactical turn-based games and classic heist movies alike. The game is set in the early 70′s, and goal for the player is to create the best team ever, get the best weapons and equipment, and make that ‘Masterplan’, in order to pull of the biggest and heist ever. Can you pull it off?

The game will currently be giving players about 1.5 to 2 hours of playtime, with a gameplay that blend a physics-based world and a clever AI system. There will only be 3 characters at this time, but more to come later on as it gets closer to release, plus players will get to go to various heist locations. The Masterplan has a sandbox style for the locations, which allows for random scenarios and different plans to create in order to come out winning in the end.

The features that you will experience in The Masterplan, include the following:

  • Heist your target silently or go guns blazing – your choice (and your consequences)
  • Holdup civilians and make them do your bidding
  • Carry and hide bodies to avoid detection
  • Deal with eyewitnesses
  • Disable electrical systems
  • Outsmart the police

The game is expected to stay on Early Access until Spring 2015 for Linux, Mac and Windows. With the full version having the full story driven campaign instead of just a collection of levels that you would experience during the Early Access, but feedback would be helping make it even better along the way.
