The #beard of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt protagonist Geralt will grow over time, which you can trim. A rather interesting #ingame #feature.
This information was recently published the first impressions post by German magazine Gamestar (translated by NeoGAF), where The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt developers CD Projekt Red revealed that Geralt’s beard will in fact grow over time.
Eurogamer asked CD Projekt RED’s Michał Platkow-Gilewski for more details.
- The beard grows as time passes and when Geralt moves between locations. The beard has several “states” and these states determine its length – the longest is really long but it’s not Gandalf-long.
Also, Geralt’s beard growing stops when you apply Witcher 3’s free Beard and Hairstyle DLC, as Michał Platkow-Gilewski of CD Projekt Red explains:
- When you download the free Beard and Hairstyle DLC the growth of the beard will stop because we decided that when players want a predefined look, it would be weird to require from them to reapply it time after time.
Geralt’s beard does indeed grow as you play The Witcher 3, up to a point. But you can set his look and have it remain unchanged with DLC.
One more feature to add to the game’s growing list of details. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is due in May on Linux, Mac, Windows PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
