Since you likely know about the Allegiance Update for A Total War Saga: THRONES OF BRITANNIA, it is incoming for Linux. So we have some minor news thanks to Feral Interactive.
A Total War Saga: THRONES OF BRITANNIA is an epic historical strategy game, which out now on Linux. Also originally developed by Creative Assembly and published by SEGA for Windows. THRONES OF BRITANNIA is the first in the new Total War Saga series of standalone games. But what about the Allegiance Update and the current Beta.
Feral Interactive on Linux support:
“The Allegiance update will come to Linux (the release date has not been announced yet). However, the beta will not be available for Linux players.”
So we have some good news, the Allegiance update gets a Linux confirmation. Sadly, the Beta does not have native support right now. And we do not have a release date either.
Actually, I tried the Beta build as soon as the post went live, no luck.
The Allegiance Update for THRONES OF BRITANNIA:
The Allegiance Update will introduce a number of substantial changes to the game incorporating a bunch of player feedback. You can look forward to more depth and granularity in the Politics system and within building trees, improved battle AI, and an important new mechanic called Allegiance. This mechanic is loosely based on Religion from ATTILA and the Culture mechanic of ROME II but designed to better reflect events of the Thrones time period and complement the design of the game overall. It ties in to several areas, mostly politics and how provinces work, removing some frustrations and adding some new challenges to expanding your kingdom.
If you’re interested in knowing more, game director Jack Lusted has taken some time to talk about the past, present, and future of Thrones, including more on the Allegiance Update – read the full interview here.
