Torment: Tides of Numenera beta set for Early 2016

#inXile’s spiritual sequel Torment: Tides of Numenera will not #release the first beta during 2015. We do have confirmation that the #RPG will be with us “early next year”, mainly due to the developers making sure the release is “a more polished and complete Beta Test,” offering 10 hours of adventure.

There has already been an alpha test, focused on the main mechanics than the broader scope of the game, so the upcoming beta will be the first chance to understand the true nature of a game, which earned a healthy $4 million through Kickstarter back in 2013.

Inxile Entertainment have also outlined more details about the areas and challenges beta players will be shown along with how the 55 backer-designed NPC’s will work.

Pictured above is the headquarters of a faction called The Order Of Truth, that will be encountered in the Sagus Cliffs area. Torment holds true to the painted environments of Planescape with the sci-fi/fantasy in a brand new setting.

We are hoping the beta is a mere weeks from now rather than months, although this will be a backers-only beta. While the full game is still slated for a 2016 release date for Linux, Mac and Windows PC.

Also, news recently released that inXile just opened a second studio, an expansion in New Orleans, which means they can do internal QA rather than outsource, while also being capable of making another game at any one time.
