So Feral Interactive just announced Total War: WARHAMMER II will finally be coming to Linux and Mac. This is also the second instalment of the epic fantasy strategy series. Which is coming to Linux and Mac this year.
Originally developed by Creative Assembly in partnership with Games Workshop. Published by SEGA for Windows. Total War: WARHAMMER II is the follow up to the critically-acclaimed Total War: WARHAMMER. Also brought to Linux and Mac by Feral Interactive.
Total War: WARHAMMER II puts players in command of one of four fantastical Races. While challenging them to wage a war of conquest in order to stabilise or disrupt the apocalyptically powerful Great Vortex.
The engrossing narrative campaign is set across four strikingly distinct continents. So this will be tropical Lustria, icy Naggaroth and the sophisticated Isle of Ulthuan. And also the deserts, jungles and savannahs of the sprawling Southlands.

On the campaign map, players will engage in turn-based empire building. While they manage teeming settlements, recruit vast armies, negotiate alliances and wage war.
So these are real-time tactical battles. They will command legendary heroes, spellcasters, dragons and mutated mounts as they execute meticulous battle plans including ambushes, cavalry charges and brutal war machine attacks.
The second in an epic trilogy of titles, WARHAMMER II will combine with WARHAMMER and the planned Total War: WARHAMMER III (as well as additional content packs), to create the Mortal Empires campaign, the single largest Total War experience ever.
“The race to control the Great Vortex adds a thrilling dimension to the campaign because every advance players make raises the stakes for their faction,” said David Stephen, Managing Director of Feral Interactive. “Not only must players contend with rivals for the Vortex’s power, but also with the dire consequences of success. Each time they increase their control over the Vortex, more monstrous forces of Chaos release into their lands…”
So Total War: WARHAMMER II is currently available for $59.99 USD on Steam and Humble Store. While the Linux and Mac release does not have a launch date. Here’s hoping Feral promotes a sale for better pricing.
The system requirements will be confirmed closer to release.
