Underworld Ascendant native release update
Underworld Ascendant developer OtherSide Entertainment have details about the games Linux release, with an update.
Since the launch, reviews on Steam are taking a hit. While this can be a concern, these same reviews now see an improvement. With that we also have positive news about the Linux release.
In a recent post via the Steam Discussion, OtherSide Entertainment outline the time frame for testing. Of course this also means we still don’t have have a release date. BIT testing for Linux and Mac is coming next.
Linux release update for playtesting:
“We’re syncing up this week with our engineering team inhouse and 505 to see what our pipeline for Mac and Linux playtesting will be. For people who have already applied at [email protected] , we DO have your email and OS listed, and should be reaching out later this week once we have a schedule.
We’re working on Update 2 right now, and Mac and Linux playtesting should follow shortly after those systems are locked down and we start to QA it.”
Also, if you have not, make sure to apply for playtesting using the email above. This is good news, since this coincides with the previous post via Discussions regarding the games purchase via the Steam Winter Sale. But the developer also outlines a re-offer for Linux users having to wait for the build:
“No worries about waiting to purchase until a Linux version is officially available. I believe we may re-offer the week 1 bonus creatures and map for Mac/Linux once those versions are available anyways.”
This is all positive news. OtherSide continue to keep to the original plan we pointed out back in November. Where they outline a 30 – 45 day turn around time for support. And since playtesting comes after another update for Underworld Ascendant on Windows. Linux is finally much closer to a release, but not until February.
