Unexplored 2: The Wayfarer’s Legacy showcases latest update for Linux and Windows PC. Thanks to developer Ludomotion. Who has also put together a new trailer along with the open Fig campaign.

Ludomotion releases the latest update for its roguelite action RPG. And as stated above is currently in open access on crowdfunding platform Fig.

This trailer also features new gameplay mechanics. As well as creatures and environments that are now part of the game. All part of the update. The update is live and anyone who backs Unexplored 2: The Wayfarer’s Legacy on Fig. But only available for Windows PC. So technically you can play the pre-alpha. Sample the new content right now. Since the game development uses Unity 3D.

Linux Support:

The only thing I can say is that the game is being developed in Unity. So Linux shouldn’t present a problem.

So this is the latest update for Linux. Which is not much different than our original post. Even though this does not look like a full out confirmation. Unity 3D is being used and the studio is not disputing support. Therefore, it’s safe to say backers we will have a native build.
Although, if you are reading this and still skeptical, understood. So it’s your choice.

If you missed the original post about Unexplored 2: The Wayfarer’s Legacy. The game is a prodigious sequel to the acclaimed gem, Unexplored. Although now you leave the Dungeon of Doom behind. And now venture into a vast, wondrous world. While you embark on a heroic quest to destroy the mysterious Staff of Yendor.

Unexplored 2: the Wayfarer’s Legacy Update Trailer November

Explore beautiful landscapes and discover hidden marvels. Encounter magical creatures and dangerous foes. Make brave choices and put your faith in good fortune. Featuring a unique legacy system. Plus advanced procedural generation technology. And rich, generative storytelling. Making Unexplored 2: The Wayfarer’s Legacy an adventure like no other.

Features:

  • Legacy system: the actions of past heroes impact the fortunes of those that follow in their footsteps. Use your legacy wisely to give successive adventurers. With greater hopes of completing your quest
  • Permadeath in a persistent world: when a hero dies, they stay dead. But you can choose to return to the same world with a new adventurer. Forearmed with knowledge of what lies ahead. Or, if you prefer, begin a new adventure in a completely uncharted world
  • Generative storytelling: there is no premeditated script in Unexplored 2. So every adventurer’s ultimate goal may be the same. Destroy the Staff of Yendor. But every hero will have their own unique story of the events. Along with other encounters that happen along the way
  • Procedural generation: Ludomotion’s proprietary technology generates content. This also feels like it’s designed by humans, not algorithms. Creating a near infinite number of new lands and places. Plus new stories and new challenges to discover
  • Orchestral adaptive soundtrack: an intricate system allows Unexplored 2‘s music to be arranged reactively. Making subtle changes to the score at appropriate times. Whether a moment of high emotion. Or to provide foreshadowing

Unexplored 2: The Wayfarer’s Legacy will release in 2020. Due to launch on Windows PC, then Linux. So if you feel like helping to support the open Fig campaign, it’s your call. But also be sure to Wishlist the game on Steam.
