Developer 2 Ton Studios is gearing up for the Unto The End release on December 9th. But only on Windows PC for now.
Unto The End gameplay combines full blooded combat with breathless adventuring. Which also takes place within a hostile, but beautifully realized and richly atmospheric world. Gameplay is demanding but fair. Which also places player skill firmly at the heart of the experience. So you can certainly understand the need for a Linux port. However, just recently a new Discussions post popped up stating:
Hey guys — bad news. The Linux port is going to have to wait until after launch. This sucks, and I’m sorry.
We’ve just got too many things on the go at the moment to do a port correctly. I still very much want to make it happen, and will try to find time as soon as possible.
With Unto The End putting out requests for Linux testers. It seemed as though a native port was soon to be at hand. That being said, the Windows PC and console releases are putting some strain on the developers. The husband and wife team still have an interest in Linux gaming. But with the release so close, it looks like they want to ensure a quality port.
