Despite the constant influx of new souls, Valheim maintains its critical acclaim. While gaining over 60,000 ‘Overwhelmingly Positive’ with 96% user reviews on Steam. Which is a pleasure to see for a game that has Linux and Windows PC support. Today Valheim has also officially entered the 250 best reviewed games of all time on the platform, number 78 and climbing.

Coffee Stain Publishing and Iron Gate Studio are pleased to reveal the Valheim sales. Now passes 3 million units sold in just 16 days on Steam Early Access. The Viking invasion continues unabated as Valheim’s peak concurrent player record continues to climb. Surpassing 390,000 earlier this week. Now exceeding the all-time highs of AAA titles such as Monster Hunter: World, and GTA V.

Not only are millions of Vikings playing Valheim. But it’s also sustaining a robust audience on Twitch. Not only are sales high, but this is the seventh most watched game on the platform. That’s ahead of CS:GO, Dota 2, Minecraft, and Rust. Fans have watched over 20 million hours of gameplay since launch. Valheim also attracted over 147,000 peak concurrent viewers on February 17th, it’s highest yet.

Created by Iron Gate Studio, a new Swedish developer. Valheim began as a one man passion project from CEO Richard Svensson in 2018. Following this, the team was expanded to five by 2020. Coffee Stain, also headquartered in Skövde, came on board as publisher in 2018. Valheim is one of a number of global success stories to come from the small town of Skövde. With a population of just over 50,000. Including Coffee Stain’s own ludicrous sensation Goat Simulator. And also the survival game Raft from Redbeet Interactive and Axolot Games.

Along with amazing sales, Iron Gate Studio has revealed a living Early Access roadmap. Promising new biomes, new enemies, and changes to combat, ships and more.
