Warp Frontier gets some new Chinese text translations for the game on Linux, Mac, and Windows PC. Thanks to the efforts of developer Brawsome. Which continues to rake in 95% Positive reviews on Steam and GOG.
Warp Frontier is sci-fi cop drama is getting some new text translations. Players can now expect Simplified and Traditional Chinese. All while releasing for the Lunar New Year (Feb 1st, 2022). German is due to release in April 2022.
Warp Frontier developer Brawsome hopes that Chinese players can discover the game. Since this is their first attempt at a Chinese translation. And it’s first game getting any kind of translation via Steam or GOG. Jolly Rover (2010) was previously translated into Polish and Japanese. While MacGuffin’s Curse (2012) received no translations.
Warp Frontier has players solve puzzles in point and click adventure style. Working your way through Vince’s ties with his family, allies, and enemies. The choices you make and the order in which you accept tasks result in varying outcomes each playthrough. While potentially costing the lives of thousands. Your actions ultimately decide what type of father, partner, friend, officer, and savior Vince will be.

Warp Frontier development is the result of a tight indie budget. So localization was fit for, but ultimately fell off the priority list. Early revenue provided the opportunity to explore localisation options. Doing so with Chinese and German selected to be the first languages to experiment with. All due to audience size and enthusiasm. It will be interesting to discover how post-launch translations will affect game sales. Also whether this should be in the budget for in future Brawsome titles.
