Developer inXile just announced Wasteland 2 Game of the Year Edition will be a free #upgrade to owners of the game for #Linux, Mac and Windows PC. The #newerversion will bring an enhanced and expanded build of inXile’s Kickstarted post-apocalyptic RPG which is due to release in late summer.
We’re very happy to announce that the Game of the Year Edition will be coming as a FREE UPDATE to all owners of Wasteland 2 on Windows, Mac or Linux. Whether an original backer, a late backer or someone who purchased the game later on, we will be providing Wasteland 2 Game of the Year Edition as an upgrade to your PC version of the game, available to you when it launches in late summer of this year!
The GOTY edition is an expanded update which includes “a host of improvements” such as the previously announced game engine upgrade to Unity 5. The visuals benefit from the game engine upgrade come with improved textures, character models and lighting.
Thousands of lines of new voice-over’s have also been recorded and new Perks & Quirks have been added for further character customization options, with more unique bonuses and trade-off’s, “and you can also look forward to updates to the character system, combat, and game balancing as well.”
“We wanted to re-affirm our gratitude to our backers and our dedication to RPG fans, as we have been most fortunate to return to our roots,” says inXile boss Brian Fargo.
“We plan to continue our proud tradition with Bard’s Tale 4, which we’ll crowdfund later this year.”
Wasteland 2: Game of the Year Edition will be released in late summer for all owners and crowdfunded backers on Linux, Mac, and Windows PC.
