Yooka-Laylee gameplay emerged from EGX 2016

yooka-laylee gameplay reveals at egx 2016

Gameplay has now revealed at this year’s EGX 2016 event in London, England for the Kickstarted #platformer, Yooka-Laylee. The developers from #PlaytonicGames spoke about the #features and the optimizations.

Yooka-Laylee is scheduled to release on Linux, Mac and Windows PC. Check out the gameplay footage below, thanks to courtesy of LinkGamer2207.

According to the video, the current build is several months old, but the developers added more animations and more content to the game. Explaining how the collectables are kept fairly low so that players are not overwhelmed with too much choice. However, they do have enough variance in collectables to give players the capability to add to their moves and expand the game world for more exploration.

One of the features outlined is the transformation ability where players can morph into different species to interact with other characters in the game. One demonstration shows Yooka having to transform into a plant in order to talk to a plant.

There is also an interesting mini-game segment climbing the tower, Yooka and Laylee take a quick mine cart ride where reflexes and timing come into play. Plus there are further arcade games for up to 4 players. Giving not only expandable world more vibrance but keeping players challenged with the easter-egg type games

The distinctly colourful platformer looks like it could be one of the best games to emerge from Kickstarter in a while. Having had a few high-profile failures and scams that diminish the crowdfunding platforms integrity.

Yooka-Laylee is due for release in Q1 of 2017 on Linux, Mac, Windows PC, PS4, Xbox One and Wii U. For more information on the game check out the official website.
