Frozenbyte Delays Trine 2 For Linux Into 2012

If you were hoping to play Frozenbyte’s new game, Trine 2, under Linux this year, you’re out of luck. Frozenbyte has announced that the Linux client of Trine 2 has been pushed back into 2012 while the Mac OS X and Windows versions will ship today and the console ports before year’s end.

Frozenbyte tweeted this week: “Trine2 will be released for PC and Mac on December 7th and the console versions on the 21st of December. Linux to follow in 2012.”

Trine 2 is a side-scrolling action platform and puzzle video game that follows on from the original Trine title, which was released for Windows back in 2009 but the Linux version wasn’t out until this year.

Frozenbyte is the Finnish game studio that’s also behind the Shadowgrounds game . The Shadowgrounds series was brought to Linux in 2009 by Linux Game Publishing.
