Gamers have always been into modding their favourite games, it’s more of a long and established tradition. AAA developers should consider it a privilege when modders tinker with their games, it means it’s popular. Indie developers are taking up the idea and including level editors, etc.
Techland’s past games – Call of Juarez 2 and Dead Island have both been extremely popular in the modding community and the Polish developer wants the community to also embrace Dying Light the same way.
Although Dying Light has only been out for just over a week now, modders have already started adding to and revamping the game but they want more! The developer have started working on free and extensive modding tools for the game and want players’ input into what goes into the game.
By checking out this link you can visit the official discussion board and share mod ideas – no matter how crazy – with Techland. This is only the first stage of involving the community, after the modding tools are released, Techland plan to actively support the coolest mods created by players.
Techland extends their gratitude: “We want to give creative freedom to the players to help keep Dying Light fresh and interesting even many years after their release. We want to thank players for the support they have shown us and are looking forward to their ideas where Dying Light can go from here”.
