Starfinder: Afterlight trailer giving us our first real glimpse at the epic sci-fantasy RPG game coming to Linux and Windows PC is revealed. Fueled by the creative spark of Epictellers Entertainment, the adventure looks bigger and bolder. Due to kick off its crowdfunding campaign soon.

Today, Epictellers Entertainment dropped the Starfinder: Afterlight trailer, and it’s one of those moments that makes you sit up in your chair, crank the volume, and just soak in the hype. This is the next big sci-fantasy RPG game coming our way, landing in Early Access in 2026 for Linux. And yes, it’s officially taking off on Kickstarter October 7th, so get those calendars ready.

Now here’s a bit of news: Carolina Ravassa, the voice talent behind Sombra in Overwatch and who’s also in Dragon Age: The Veilguard, has signed on as Captain Khali. She’s described as an adventurous and fiercely loyal pirate who’ll be lending a hand (and a lot of personality) to the player’s crew. If you’ve heard Ravassa’s work, you know this character is going to have serious charisma.

Check out the trailer, so you can see what Starfinder: Afterlight is exactly? Think of it as a story-rich, sci-fantasy turn-based RPG set in the Starfinder universe, built on the Second Edition rules. You’ll create your own hero, then step into the chaos after your captain vanishes. The galaxy’s teetering on the brink of annihilation, so it’s on you to pull together a crew, face down enemies with a mix of high-tech gear and raw magic. While you ultimately decide how this story ends. It’s space drama at its finest.

But in the trailer, what really sets Starfinder: Afterlight apart: the companions. This isn’t just about numbers and skill trees, it’s about building bonds with a crew that feels alive. So far, we know a few of them: Kole the Soldier (voiced by Fred Tatasciore). Tycho the Operative (voiced by Inel Tomlinson), Lu-323 the Envoy (voiced by Melissa Medína). And also Sterling the Solarian (voiced by James Alexander). To top it off, Neil Newbon (Baldur’s Gate 3, Resident Evil Village) is steering the voice direction. Which also means the performances are going to hit hard.

Backing this whole adventure is Paizo, the folks who birthed the Starfinder universe in the first place. With them on board, the lore and universe are in safe hands.

So here’s the call to action: check out the Starfinder: Afterlight trailer, hit wishlist on crowdfunding campaign for Linux and Windows PC. Then get ready for October 7th when the Kickstarter campaign launches. Jump into the official game Discord, follow the devs where they hang out on  Twitter/X, and strap in.

The countdown has begun, and if the trailer’s anything to go by, Starfinder: Afterlight isn’t just another RPG it’s a galactic journey we’ll be talking about for years.
