Five more minutes is a roguelike deckbuilder game now live on Kickstarter, bringing its adventure to Linux, Steam Deck, and Windows PC. Fueled by the creative spark of developer PurpleTurtle. Which you can support via the crowdfunding campaign.

We’ve all been there. The clock hits midnight, your eyes are heavy, your parents yell from the other room, or your partner gives you that look. But you just can’t put the controller down. Just a few more minutes you whisper to yourself, knowing full well you’re not stopping anytime soon.

That feeling? That’s exactly what Five more minutes, the brand-new title from PurpleTurtle and Zugalu Entertainment, is all about. And it’s officially live on Kickstarter right now. Even better, there’s a playtest waiting for you on Steam (via Proton). If you’ve ever grown up with a controller in your hands, this one’s going to hit you right in the nostalgia. But it also has native support coming….

We’re building the game on Godot, so yes, we’ll definitely release on Linux at launch.

PurpleTurtle explained that, as a small team, they’re focusing on Windows first to keep development on track. But don’t worry, according to the campaigns FAQ, they’re already making sure the game runs great on Steam Deck through Proton, for now.

A Journey Through Gaming History

This isn’t just another roguelike deckbuilder put together with some flashy cards. Five more minutes takes you on a ride through the worlds we grew up with. Pixelated landscapes, 3D classics, and those memory-card-fueled adventures that defined our childhoods. Each run feels like diving headfirst into gaming’s greatest hits, and you’re the one who gets to rewrite the rules.

You start by picking from three different gaming genres, each with their own flavor. Maybe you’re into fast-paced action, or maybe RPGs are more your vibe. Doesn’t matter, since there’s a turn: you can fuse genres together. That means you get to mix strategies, combine wild cards, and unlock rule-breaking combos that feel almost… illegal. Like cheating without the GameShark.

Build, Fight, Remember

Every genre you choose comes with unique cards, keepsakes, and strategies to discover. As your character levels up, you’ll snag extra actions, more health, and collect powerful mementos. Each one reminding you of why you fell in love with gaming in the first place. It’s not just about beating enemies; it’s about reliving those late-night marathons, the rush of unlocking something new. And also the bittersweet feeling of knowing you’ve grown up with these worlds.

And that’s the real magic here. Five more minutes isn’t just gameplay, it’s a heartfelt tribute to the one best friend who’s always been there: videogames themselves.

The Road Ahead

Five more minutes is due to launch in Q3 2026 for Steam on Steam Deck, Linux and Windows PCs, priced at $19.99 USD / £18.99 / 19,99€ with Steam’s regional pricing and a 10% launch discount.

Since you’re a Linux player, or sticking to your favorite handheld, you’ve got a way in.

Five more minutes and One More Run?

If you’re like me, you’ve said “just one more run” more times than you can count. That’s what makes Five more minutes so exciting. The roguelike deckbuilder doesn’t just understand that feeling, it builds an entire game around it.

The Kickstarter’s crowdfunding campaign is live, the Steam playtest is waiting for Linux and Steam Deck players via Proton. The memories are calling. So yeah… maybe it’s time for just five more minutes
