If you haven’t heard yet, Slay the Princess — The Pristine Cut is a free upgrade to the base game, and it’s packed with awesome new content. Here’s a breakdown of what you can expect on Linux and Steam Deck:

First off, this update expands the title by a huge 35%! That means thousands of fresh voice lines, over a thousand new illustrations, and 17 brand-new music tracks to enjoy while you play.

But that’s not all. Major areas like The Fury, The Den, and the Apotheosis have massive free upgrades. There’s now more than three times the amount of content to discover in Slay the Princess — The Pristine Cut for each of these zones compared to the base game.

There are also got three new Princesses joining the fray. These new characters are tied to The Damsel, the Prisoner, and the Spectre, bringing even more variety to your adventure.

One of the best additions is a brand-new ending, so if you’ve already seen how it all wraps up, there’s a whole new twist waiting for you.

Plus, there’s a deep, interactive gallery that helps you track your progress across more than 420 unlocks. It also lets you revisit your favorite moments (or those you’d rather forget) with the Princess. It’s a great way to look back at your achievements.

Slay the Princess — The Pristine Cut also brings subtitle support for a bunch of languages, including Simplified and Traditional Chinese, European and Latin American Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, Korean, Japanese, German, Polish, French, Russian, and Italian. So, if you or your friends prefer playing in a different language, it’s all here.

For those of you already playing on Steam, Slay the Princess will automatically update to The Pristine Cut free. Just download the update, and you’re good to go. If you ever want to jump back to older versions of the game, those are available through the beta branches.

One heads-up: The gallery won’t retroactively sync with your past progress. Black Tabby tried making it happen, but the available options were too tricky and risky to test. So, Black Tabby better to launch Slay the Princess — The Pristine Cut bug-free.
