teal turn based multiplayer gets linux and steamos release on steam

Teal is a turn based multiplayer strategy game available on Steam, now with Linux and SteamOS support. The gameplay uses simultaneous turns, think chess with guns. Each have mind bending trajectories. Games are played on a variety of maps. Since each have a different focus. While adapting your team composition. Anticipating the opponent’s next move is the key to victory.

So two players compete against one another. Taking their turns at the same time. The turns also merge once both have finished their turn. While all units execute their moves at the same time.

Therefore, this means that you have to predict the opponent’s next move. Trying to to hit their units and avoid their projectiles. So gameplay is a constant challenge. While giving players equal opportunity. But allowing players to be able to compete in online and local multiplayer. As well as shared split screen with a Hot-Seat Mode.

Each unit can hold 2 different weapons. All weapons are energy-based. Therefore removing the need for conventional ammunition. The units produce enough power to allow for indefinite use. It also allows for the projectiles to not harm units of the same team, the exception being explosives.

Also the range of weapons is impressive. So rifle, pistol, Gatling gun, shotgun, shrapnel gun, grenade and molotov. So TealDev went to the effort of including decent weapon choices.
Personally seeing the molotov and Gatling gun are impressive. There are also turrets that can be setup during matches.

Teal features 5 maps, 8 weapons and 3 map objectives. Eacn one can be utilized to gain an advantage. So each game is also saved as a replay. Allowing players to re-watch and analyze your strategy.
