Warfare Legacy Collection is new historical strategy game coming to Linux, Mac, and Windows PC, with a native demo. Thanks to the team at Con Artist Games for bringing back classic gameplay. Which you can try now on Steam.
Get ready to return to the trenches — Warfare Legacy Collection is releasing on Monday, April 28, 2025. Due to bring it’s all-out war to your screen in a fully remastered blast from the past. Since you’re running Linux, you’ll be able to dive in via Steam, just in time for the Steam Wargames Fest.
This collection brings back two iconic flash historical strategy titles from the 2000s—Warfare 1917 and Warfare 1944—now polished up with new visuals, voice acting, and a slick new engine. These aren’t just reboots—they’re full-on upgrades. If you played them back in the day, Warfare Legacy Collection will feel like the ultimate homecoming. If you’re new, you’re in for some serious tactical action.
In Warfare 1917, you’ll lead either British or German troops through the brutal trench battles of WWI. It’s all about slow, gritty pushes, managing morale, and knowing when to send in the next wave. Then in Warfare 1944, things speed up as you pick between U.S. forces or the German Wehrmacht in a deadly tug-of-war across war-torn Europe.
Battle of the Bulge coming to Warfare Legacy Collection
You’ll deploy troops like assault squads, sharpshooters, and officers, all while trying to take and hold key trenches across six intense missions. Tanks, gas grenades, suppressing fire—it’s all here, and it’s all about strategy. Winning earns you command points to upgrade your units and unlock better gear.
Warfare Legacy Collection also has a custom battle mode where you can set up your own maps, build trench lines, and place units how you want. You can really dig into this historical strategy and fight your way. Try the Linux Demo on Steam!
But that’s not all — a brand-new campaign is on the way: The Battle of the Bulge. Set during the freezing winter of 1944, this will test your skills to the limit. You’ll have to hold off a surprise German attack with limited resources, freezing conditions, and some nasty tricks from the enemy. Sound intense? It is.
Chris Condon from Con Artist Games said it best: “It feels good to revisit where it all started.” And now it’s your turn to storm the battlefield again.
So, squad up, wishlist the Warfare Legacy Collection on Steam, and prepare for war on April 28th. Along with support for Linux, Mac, and Windows PC. And also, try the Demo!!
