The Shadow Syndicate noir stealth action game is coming to Linux, Steam Deck, Mac, and Windows PC. Thanks to the amazing team at KillaSoft for their talent and passion. Due to make its way onto Steam.
Indie studio KillaSoft just releasing a bombshell: their new title, The Shadow Syndicate, is in the works. It’s a gritty, story-driven third-person stealth action adventure, and trust us, this one’s not pulling any punches. Better yet, it’s due to get native support, so no one’s left behind. In fact, KillaSoft emailed me stating, “we are indeed planning for the game to run on Steam Deck and Linux.” Who also share a strong passion for the platform.
Dive Into the Shadows
Set in 1933 Brooklyn, The Shadow Syndicate throws you straight into a city on the edge. You play as Private Detective Sam Marlowe, a no-nonsense investigator whose mentor has mysteriously vanished. That mystery? It’s just the tip of a dark, spiraling conspiracy.
Sam soon finds himself teamed up with Elo, the firecracker daughter of the city’s mayor. She’s smart, fearless, and more than ready to shake things up. Together, the unlikely duo starts peeling back the layers of a sinister secret organization manipulating the city from the shadows. It’s a race against time as the two chase clues, dodge betrayal, and fight to stop a force that could rip Brooklyn’s soul apart.

What Makes The Shadow Syndicate Unique?
- Gritty Combat With a Twist
When things go sideways, Sam doesn’t just shoot — he thinks fast. Tap into his combat instincts and slow down time during gunfights. Dodge, roll, aim, and take out enemies with style. It’s slick, satisfying, and will make you feel like a rebel. - Detective Work That Actually Feels Smart
You’re not just a trigger-happy PI. Sam’s journal helps track clues, testimonies, and leads you uncover through dialogue and exploration. The more you dig, the more story paths and secrets open up — think smart, talk smart, and play smart. - Noir Vibes Cranked to 11
Imagine classic comic book style with smoky jazz bars, crooked alleyways, and dramatic lighting that oozes mood. The art direction takes major inspiration from Blacksad, so every frame feels like a living, breathing noir graphic novel. It’s gorgeous — and it gets the genre.
Gameplay Style:
If you’re into title like The Shadow Syndicate, you’ll probably like that blend stealth, action, and rich storytelling. Think Dishonored for its slick stealth and supernatural twist. Or L.A. Noire, where you’re piecing together clues and grilling suspects in a 1940s crime drama. Blacksad: Under the Skin is another close match, especially if you’re drawn to noir vibes and detective work.
For a more stylized punch, Aragami brings shadowy stealth mechanics with a strong visual style. And if you want character-driven tension mixed with narrative depth, The Wolf Among Us from Telltale Games hits all the right notes. All of these titles capture that gritty atmosphere, thoughtful pacing, and cinematic feel that fans will appreciate in The Shadow Syndicate.
KillaSoft is clearly pouring heart and soul into this one, blending stealth, action, and character-driven storytelling into something fresh and powerful. Whether you’re here for the gunfights, the drama, or the detective work, gameplay promises a ride you won’t forget. So be sure to Wishlist it on Steam. Coming to Linux, Steam Deck, Mac, and Windows PC. The release is TBD.
Keep your eyes peeled — this is one title every Linux player will want to check out.
