WW2 Rebuilder simulator game holds hope for a Linux port with Windows PC. Due to the detailed work and efforts of developer Madnetic Games. Working to make its way onto Steam.
Tthe Wroclaw studio Madnetic Games wants to show us an additional free map of Hamburg in the alpha version. The start of WW2 Rebuilder playtests is most likely at the turn of June / July.
On top of this, we have some interesting information from Madnetic about WW2 Rebuilder.
We want to do it, but everything will depend on Unreal Engine and our testing center – which means the team. If this will be possible and will not crash, then sure.
Since WW2 Rebuilder is being developed in Unreal Engine 4. This also explains the need for testing and offer a solid build for the community. The email reply seems to be a bit pensive about testing. But the developers are hopeful, and Linux fans. Stating, “personally like Linux mostly Debian based systems like Ubuntu, Mint etc.”
Also, if you are curious about the game and want to give it a try. There is a Demo available on Steam which may be playable in Proton. Results will vary.
WW2 Rebuilder Hamburg Trailer
From time to time, Madnetic Games offers us the latest gameplay for WW2 Rebuilder. We can see in the video how we clean the square and rebuild the area around the St. Nicholas Church in Hamburg. While the building process seems very Minecraft like.
The release date for WW2 Rebuilder has not been disclosed yet. But we can expect that to change in the coming months. It’s worth mentioning that WW2 Rebuilder: Cities From Ashes has a free demo available on Steam. Sadly this is Windows PC only, but as previously mentioned, Proton may be an option for Linux.
The demo does include a tutorial and a Gimbert map modeled on the Soham station. A map dedicated to the exploits of Benjamin Gimbert – the local hero.
In the future, the developers plan to add more machines, mini-games, and tools. Madnetic invites you to submit constructive comments and ideas on Discord for the simulator game.
